Eve and Lilith

Women are often told to be Eve: obedient, selfless, and quiet. We’re taught to numb our pain, to listen, and, most of all, to please. Yet society misses the beauty and fierce grace within Eve’s vulnerability.

At the same time, we’re warned not to be Lilith: neither strong, bold, nor independent. Yet Lilith was the first to choose herself, to rise and stand unyielding.

For much of my life, I did what I was told. I battled to accept my Eve and tucked away my Lilith. I saw one as too soft, the other as too hard.

I misunderstood them both.

I no longer want to choose.

I am someone who loves deeply and still stands her ground. Soft, but not breakable. Kind, but not here to please.

Eve and Lilith are not myths meant to divide or silence us. They are the delicate balance between courage and compassion, and I now accept them both.
